Raina grew up in Spain and with both a very solid basketball development through the ranks of Almeria and Murcia where he has played at the elite level of the U16 Spanish league, competing against the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona in the final 8 of the Championships.

He is a versatile player and a tremendous rim protector and a left-handed player which poses different challenges to his opponents.

Academically, Rai has attended state Schools and with good academic results prior to embarking on high school at Wesley Christian school, which has enabled him to adapt rapidly academically.

Prior to starting his high school at Wesley Christian School,  Rai was nominated to the Portuguese U18 National team training camp and since then he has been under observation of the National team due to his great potential.

His level of attendance and participation both at school and practice is outstanding.

He shows excellent social skills and a great willingness to work on and off the court. He has proven to be very reliable, consistent and demonstrates a strong determination in performance orientated team sports.
