Other Info

During my time at school, I actively participated and competed in many sports such as tennis, hockey, netball, and athletics. I have represented my school at both regional and national levels. My notable achievements include reaching the National School Tennis Finals and winning the Netball School National Champions in 2020. Playing in my school sports teams not only strengthened my skills but reinforced my values of teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. I am currently taking a gap year in New Zealand coaching tennis to children and adults (groups and individual lessons). I enjoy being surrounded by tennis but also gaining independence during my time away from home which will be invaluable when I come to America for college.

Write a statement about your strengths, goals, values

I am a hardworking and committed athlete who has played and loved tennis since being introduced to the sport at the age of four. Having made such a big commitment to the sport from a young age I have learnt discipline and experienced first-hand the rewards of hard work. This not only applies to tennis but also to my studies, as whilst I am passionate about tennis, academics are also very important to me.
Going to America for college will allow me to play tennis at a great level and will expose me to greater opportunities that perhaps elsewhere would not be possible. The environment in which my studies would take place and being surrounded by such great facilities and support excites me and is a journey I am eager to begin. I believe pursuing a major in the U.S. will help fulfil my academic aspirations alongside my sporting goals.
I have been lucky enough to represent my county at numerous County Cups and look back at these times with great memories. As tennis is a very independent sport I enjoyed being part of a team and having the opportunity to work together with my teammates and support each other. Being surrounded by such a supportive environment like this every day while I study in America will be hugely advantageous to both myself and my new teammates.

Coach reference:
I have known Eva since 2014 when I first began captaining the Berkshire County Cup girl’s teams
Eva has demonstrated a willingness to learn, and improve and has dedicated herself to developing her tennis with the aim of obtaining a Tennis Scholarship to the USA.
Since training with the County and with the support of the coaching team at Maidenhead LTC and Bradfield Tennis Centre’s County Cup coaches Eva’s tennis has gone from strength to strength and she is a regular member of the Berkshire County Cup team. Eva was also a member of the successful Girls 18 & under County Cup Team which won their Division in 2020.
Eva is an excellent competitor with a steely determination who would be an asset to any team and I have no hesitation in recommending her for a Scholarship.
